School officials and special education administrators appeared at a forum for candidates and elected officials met at Clearwater to exchange ideas&#160;on &#160;issues related to public education.&#160; Joann Keiter attended.&#160;

Advocates in Communities Team

On Monday, October 20, 2008, ACT met at Envision, 510 North Main to link the disability advocates with the candidates and elected officials for a candidate forum.&#160; Joann Keiter attended and presented her views on helping adults with disabilities.

She addressed the subject of minimum wages in Kansas as the disgrace that it is.

Goddard Fall Festival of Bands

Goddard's Fall Festival - Celebrating the American Spirit was a perfect venue for candidates seeking an opportunity to personally connect with voters.&#160; Saturday, October 4, 2008&#160; Joann Keiter walked in a parade.&#160; Richard Flaharty presented the Keiter parade banner on his truck along with Slattery signs.&#160; This was a wonderful opportunity to communicate my message to voters by placing an ad in the commemorative Fall Festival of Bands Program.&#160; Goddard Music Boosters distributed this program to over 2500 spectators.

Sedgwick Counth Federation of Women's Democratic Clubs

Gwen Welshimer, Sedgwick County Commissioner, hosted the annual pot-luck dinner at her home, 6103 Castle Drive in Wichita on Thursday, September 11, 2008 for th Sedgwick County Federation of Women's Democratic Clubs.&#160; Even with the drizzle, it was a huge success.&#160; Thank you Gwen&#160; for opening your home for this opportunity to meet and greet the 2008 candidates.&#160; Great Party

On Wednesday, August 27, 2008 I sent out a blitz e-mail to my birth family, the McManus'.&#160; I tried to contact as&#160;many as I could by electronic mail for the small donations that have made the Obama campaign such a success.&#160; Let's hope it works!&#160; I need to get my yard signs.

Money began to trickle in, in response to the letters to USD#259 current and former employees where I spent 22 years of my career in education administration.&#160; &#160;I spent hours attempting to get my campaign records up to date.

On Thursday, August,21, 2008, Pam Frieden, Candidate for Senate District&#160;#26, Elizabeth Bishop, Candidate for Senate District #30 and Joann Keiter, Candidate for House of Representatives #93 drove to Topeka, Kansas for the reception for candidates sponsored by the AFL-CIO.&#160; We left at 4:00 p.m. and returned home at 3:00 a.m.
